Nearly a thousand people gathered on the steps of the City and County Building in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, November 15, 2008 to join a national day of protest against the passage of Proposition 8 in California. This proposition, bankrolled by the Mormon church and other members of the religious right, reversed the decision of the California Supreme Court earlier this year which made same-sex marriage legal in the state of California. I joined the Denver crowd of almost 1000 in a peaceful demonstration that featured inspiring speakers, music, and a march along the 16th Street Mall.
